St. Felicity Sisterhood

Holy Transfiguration's St. Felicity Sisterhood is a group of parish women who serves the church, the diocese, and the local community. On an ongoing basis, the sisterhood performs tasks related to the upkeep of the church, the church kitchen and the trapeza hall. Some of these tasks include: weekly church cleanings, decorating the church and hall for feast days, maintaining the various lectern covers, stocking the pantry, etc. Every year the sisterhood contributes to a need in our diocese. In 2018 we raised $1,400.00 for the newly established St. John the Baptist Monastery in Warwick, MA. Prior to that we raised money for St. John's Orphanage in Novi Han, Bulgaria. And last but not least, our local ministries include: providing baked goods for a local soup kitchen, Samaritan Center, once a month, sponsoring Thanksgiving meals and Christmas celebrations for families in need through PEACE, Inc. and donating non-perishable food items to the Jamesville-Dewitt Ecumenical Food Pantry. We hold meetings several times throughout the year, so please stay tuned for our next one. If you'd like to get involved in the meantime, please contact Athena Cleghorn. We would greatly welcome your help and feedback, thank you!

OCMC Coin Boxes

Every year during the Lenten period, our church participates in the coin box program, which raises money for Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC). OCMC's main focus is to bring Christ and the Orthodox faith to people all over the world, and secondly, to provide for the needs of the communities in which they work. Please visit https://www.ocmc.org/about/active_missionaries.aspx to learn more about the great work OCMC is administering in countries like Guatemala, Uganda, Indonesia, etc. through these devoted missionaries and their families!

There are plenty of coin boxes available, so grab your box and start saving your change or, better yet, your dollar bills! Please bring your coin boxes to church by Pentecost Sunday for collection. Boxes are available for pickup in the trapeza hall on the table under the bulletin boards. Thank you so much for your support!
